Can you use a walmart discount card to buy a gift card?

If you work there you get the discount card thingy. The one I have gets 10% off. So, can you use it with a gift card. So like, say I wanted to put $ 50 on a gift card, can I use it and pay $ 45 instead of $ 50 and still get $ 50 on the card? Or can I not do that?
